Unlike Disneyland Paris and Tokyo Disneyland, Hong Kong Disneyland is meant to be a partnership between Disney and the local government right from the beginning. Even Though the French government made significant concessions to the project in terms of extending highways and the railway, reduction in balue-added tax, provision of $6 billion loans, and sale of land at agricultural value in 1971, the theme park was initially owned 49% by Walt Disney with the remaining 51% owned by a separate company called Euro Disney S.C.A which traded on the French Bourse.
